Chromia is built to support large-scale, mainstream applications. We designed it to give our users exactly what they want; fast support, useful features, with an affordable service cost.
In Chromia, the relational database optimises every query, providing enough resources for any application to run smoothly. Even if you have to update multiple accounts at a time, in finance or a game, for example, Chromia makes it possible.
Yes. Chromia brings you the power to make it happen. Chromia also offers indexing with super low latency.
In Chromia, nodes are run by providers and it is the providers that pay for them. Each dapp on Chromia has an account and tokens, which are used to pay providers for hosting.
Yes. dapps on Chromia communicate with each other by reading data from another dapp on the same node, or by assertion, moving proof to a different dapp on the Chromia chain.
Consensus on Chromia is multi-layer. Chromia has a BFT synchronisation mechanism on the lowest level, allowing for super-fast confirmation.
Chromia puts control of the revenue in the hands of the developer. If you want to pay for it yourself, or charge users on a freemium, subscription or cost-per-action basis, it’s up to you.
The potential power of Chromia means that almost anything is possible.
Chromia lends itself very well to gaming. For example, if you want to develop a sophisticated economy in your game, Chromia makes it easy and reliable.
Chromia is also terrific for fintech applications, such as derivative trading platforms.
Yes. Part of the flexibility of Chromia is that users have control over their data and providers have to be accountable.
Rell is a programming language, specifically developed for Chromia, by Chromia. We think Rell is easier to use and safer than SQL. Rell is designed to show programmers the right way to use it, as well as let them know if they have made a mistake.
We can’t wait to see what our users will do with Chromia. We have built something that enables applications that have never been possible before on blockchain. We are removing limitations. That’s exciting.
We are working hard on every piece of technology around Chromia to ensure that we can take you to the moon as soon as possible!
We came up with the Chroma token to enable developers to pay the hosting fee. Also, it’s for staking.
We have fixed the amount to 1 billion.
Yes. We used a KYC application called Verif. No documents were stored.
The base price was $0.10.
Chromia is based on the Postchain framework, using relational blockchain. To support the relational database we developed our own programming language specifically for blockchain, called Rell.
Programmers can access the blockchain state in the relational database in the same way you would access the database in a standard application. You can use indexes, tables and links between tables. It makes Chromia a super powerful tool for modelling complex applications.
Chromia uses a hybrid, multi-layer consensus model, with a PBFT style algorithm. Additionally, we operate a system of custom staking, meaning our dapp developers can create their own methods of monetising their creations. Chromia doesn’t insist on pay-per-click like other blockchain platforms.
No. We have designed Chromia without the need for gas fees. It’s a totally different economic model for blockchain, spelling the end for substandard ‘pay-per-click’ UXs. With Chromia, dapps are provisioned as a whole. This means our dapp developers will be free to devise their own ways to monetise their dapps. Whether you choose freemium, subscription, a one-off payment or anything else, with Chromia, you have total flexibility.
When a dapp has its own blockchain, it gives total flexibility to the user. Developers can take advantage of horizontal scalability and performance isolation. So, a bug in a dapp on one chain would not affect the dapp on another chain. Until now, it wasn’t possible to make multiple blockchains secure. With Chromia, the game has changed.
With Chromia, you can manage your resources more efficiently. It allows you to add more nodes so you can host more apps. Total scalability.
With Chromia, dapps are hosted by professional providers. During our bootstrapping phase, all providers will be verified users, with a certifiable history of business operation.
With Chromia, we are creating a diverse ecosystem. We want our dapp developers to be able to take whatever approach they want when it comes to incentives. That could be profit, but it could be building relationships with their users, giving them the features they want and making something great.
For beginners on Chromia, you can get started by checking our ‘dev preview’ documentation on our site. There is an integrated development environment, packaged in Docker, to help you find your way.
Rell takes its inspiration from other languages such as SQL, Typescript and Kotlin. If you’re familiar with those languages, you will be at home with Rell too.
We have designed Chromia to be able to process 500 transactions per second per blockchain. However, thanks to relational blockchain, these individual transactions can do a lot more than is possible on other blockchains, such as Bitcoin. Of course, if you require more capacity, you can add more blockchains. Chromia gives you control.
Rell is a statically typed language, where every expression has a type. In this way, it’s similar to Kotlin.
The aim of Chromia is to combine relational databases, which exist in every kind of organisation, together using blockchains. We want to provide a platform for our users to develop totally decentralised apps securely. Our goal is for Chromia to be seen as the number one infrastructure for decentralised applications.
Where Chromia is different from other platforms is that it helps you host complex logic. Other platforms do not have the ability to host data applications in a decentralised and secure way, as Chromia can. Chromia also has its own bespoke programming language that sets it apart from SQL-based platforms. It’s so easy to use, even non-developers can understand it!
The other big difference with Chromia concerns payments. Chromia gives its users freedom from having to pay for each transaction. With Chromia, you have the flexibility to decide how to set your fees.
We got PWC to audit the whole of our process.
Chromia gives developers to build more powerful tools than any other platform. If you want to develop a decentralised application which hosts its own chain, you should choose Chromia. It’s capable of performing more complex tasks than any other platform.
With Chromia, developers can choose how they set their fees. If you want to have your dapp free to use, charge a monthly subscription, or anything else, you have the flexibility with Chromia.
We also think Chromia is easy to use. Once you try it, we know you’ll love it.
At ChromaWay, we’ve got experience and knowledge. Our guys created the first token platform in the world. We made history!
We know what developers want. They want the best dapp platform in the world. We think we’ve built that.
Yes. We hope to be using Chromia at ChromaWay very soon. If you are already using Postchain, Chromia will undoubtedly work, but bring you extra benefits.
You can get involved as a dapp developer, user or tester. We will also be rewarding bounties and airdrops for those who work to acquire Chroma. Specialist providers can also earn Chroma by running nodes.
